Brett Ashley Mark Angell (born 20 August 1968) is an English association football coach and former player, now coaching in New Zealand. His brother Darren also played football professionally.Turning professional with Portsmouth in 1986, he made his mark as a striker the following year after moving to Cheltenham Town. In 1988 he joined Stockport County via Derby County, before signing with Southend United in 1990. Impressing at the club, he won a move to Everton four years later. In 1995 he transferred to Sunderland, after spent part of 1996 on loan at Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion, before he returned to Stockport later in the year. Successful in his second spell with the club, he was loaned out to Notts County and Preston North End, before ending up at Walsall in 2000. Two years later he joined Queens Park Rangers via Rushden & Diamonds and Port Vale. He retired in 2003 having scored 200 goals in 540 games, in all competitions.With Southend he was promoted out of the Third Division 1990–91, and was also named on the PFA Team of the Year. He won promotion out of the Second Division with Stockport County, and was later inducted into the clubs Hall of Fame. He topped the Second Division with Preston North End in 1999–2000, and won his fourth promotion with Walsall after winning the Second Division play-off final in 2001. He was also listed in the 2006 book Cheltenham Town Football Club 50 Greats.
