His very musical parents met while they were both taking singing and piano lessons.Marcus would spend partial summers with his sister, Ms. Marina Van, who as a resident of Manhattan and East Hampton NY, was married to Bobby Van, pianist and saloon owner of Bobby Vans Restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York.
