Deena B. Katz (Born February 12, 1950) is an American Certified Financial Planner, author, and chairwoman of the Miami, Florida investment firm Evensky & Katz. She also serves as an Associate Professor in the Personal Financial Planning Division at Texas Tech University.
Biography,Katz graduated from Adrian College with a bachelors degree in English & Education in 1972, later becoming an associate professor for the college.She later worked as an English teacher before developing a financial practice. In 1990, she moved to Miami, merging her practice with those of Harold Evensky and Peter Brown to form Evensky, Brown & Katz, where she previously served as president and is now chairwoman. (The firm became Evensky & Katz in 2004, after the retirement of Peter Brown.)She was awarded a Doctorate of Humane Letters (honoris causa) from Adrian College in 2001.Katz has two children and several grandchildren through her marriage to Harold Evensky.
